how to connect to an epson projector

 

Step 1: Make sure you have the appropriate cables.

- HDMI cable to connect from your computer to your projector

- VGA cable to connect from your computer to your projector (VGA is for older, non-HDMI capable projectors)

Both of these are available at most electronics and office supply stores.

Step 2: Plug one end of the HDMI or VGA cable into the back of your computer and plug the other end into the input port on your projector.

If you're using an HDMI cable with a female connector, simply plug it in with no further configuration needed.

If you're using a VGA cable, you must connect your computer to the projector with a mirror setting. Before plugging in the VGA cable, go to your computer's control panel > display settings and click on the "projector" tab. It should be set to "default monitor" when you first start up your computer. Change the setting of the "projector" tab to mirror mode and select your input.

Step 3: Adjust your settings based on what type of connection you are using; HDMI or VGA.

If you want a group of people to be able to view the same video or other images on the screen in a large size for projection, you will need a projector. The two most common projectors are LCD and DLP. The LCD can use either an HDMI cable and VGA cable, whereas the DLP needs a VGA cable and power cord. You can also use devices such as your laptop, phone or tablet as well as any computer with HDMI output unless it has multiple display adapters that does not support external displays.

Make sure your estimated projector power is less than 50W.

Turn on the projector and make sure it's plugged into an outlet with a power cord that is within 3 feet of the projector.

Switch off the main power switch in the back of your epson projector.

Switch on the computer and check to see if the computer is connected to the projector.

Turn off your epson projector. Connect one end of a VGA cable to the VGA port on your monitor and connect the other end of this cable to your computer’s video card in order for you to view your desktop. Make sure that both computers are turned off when you are connecting their cables. Connect another end of this cable on your epson projector’s input port and switch it on from the switch located at the back of your unit; make sure it is set at “Extend” or “PC Screen” mode if you want to use a larger screen or duplicate images.
